Academic Minors for Early Childhood and Childhood Education Majors (B-6) (18-20 credits):


Early Childhood/Childhood Education majors are required to complete an Interdisciplinary Concentration in the Liberal Arts and Sciences, to fulfill New York State Education Department content core requirements. This Interdisciplinary Concentration includes both a breadth and depth requirement. To ensure breadth of content knowledge, students must complete three credits in a world language and six credits in each of the following: English (one CDE plus any ENGL or WRIT), math (one CDQ plus any math) , science (one CDN plus any science), and history/social studies (one CDH plus any HIST or POSC) . To ensure depth of content knowledge, students must complete an approved academic minor of at least 18 credits in a discipline from either the School of Liberal Arts or from the School of Science, which may include the following:
