RELG - 355. Contemporary Catholic Life and Thought

An examination of contemporary issues within the Catholic Church. These may include: interreligious dialogue; science and technology; political advocacy and action; power, authority and ordination; the global church; Jesus; prayer and spirituality; Mary; and theologies of the church. Throughout the course, we will be alert to the historical and cultural contexts shaping such issues, as well as to the diversity of beliefs and practices among Catholics.

Prerequisite(s): RELG 101  or RELG 121  or RELG 141  or RELG 181
