Siena physics and applied physics majors seeking initial teaching certification (grades 7-12) must be approved by both the Physics Department and the Education Department. It is the responsibility of the student to understand and fulfill the various requirements of Siena University, the major department, Education Department, and the state to which they plan to apply for teacher certification. Students will need to maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in Physics, a 3.0 in Education, and an overall GPA of 2.75.

In addition to the requirements of one of the physics tracks above, students must complete the requirements for the Adolescence Education: Physics, B.S. major.
