The minor in Sustainability Studies provides students in any major the opportunity to complement their existing plan of study with knowledge, skills, and values necessary to advance a more sustainable future for both human institutions and the natural world in times of unprecedented change.

Sustainability Studies Minor (18 credit minimum)

Sustainability Core Requirements (6 credits)

SUST - 200. Introduction to Sustainability: Principles and Practice 3 credit(s) AND
SUST - 498. Internship in Sustainable Planning and Problem Solving 1-3 credit(s) OR
SUST - 499. Independent Study in Sustainability 1-3 credit(s)

Sustainability Elective Requirement (12 credit minimum)

At least one course from each of three competency categories below for a minimum of 12 credits:

Communication, Collaboration and Values (Courses with Attribute SUSC)
Human and Natural Systems (Courses with Attribute SUSS)
Vision, Creativity and Planning (Courses with Attribute SUSV)
