The Adolescence Education: French dual major is a track in Siena College’s nationally accredited Teacher Preparation Program. In order to be eligible for the Adolescence Education: French dual major, students must complete the education course requirements below and the requirements for the French, B.A. - Education Track . Students will need to maintain at least a 3.2 GPA in their French major, a 3.0 in Education, and an overall GPA of 3.0.
The French major provides students with the necessary content knowledge, and the Adolescence Education: French major provides students with the pedagogical knowledge required to teach French at the secondary level. When earned together, the dual major in French and Adolescence Education: French prepares students to meet the New York State Education Department program requirements for initial certification in French (grades 7-12).
Students who complete the Adolescence Education: French dual major will earn a B.A. degree with two majors, one in French and another in Adolescence Education: French.
