Dr. Lisa Nevárez, Director

Race and Ethnic Studies is an interdisciplinary and comparative program that encompasses scholarship about intercultural relations and constructions of race/ethnicity in social, cultural, historical, political, and economic contexts. The Race and Ethnic Studies minor at Siena introduces students to in-depth analysis of race/ethnicity and culture in the United States and in the nations of origin of peoples of non-European descent. Race and Ethnic Studies courses promote an appreciation of human diversity, and contextualized understanding of the complex history of intercultural relations within the United States and the larger world.
