ENVA - 430. The Adirondack Environment 3 credit(s) This interdisciplinary course introduces students to the geology, flora and fauna, history, literature, and environmental politics of New York’s Adirondack Mountains. Following a historical survey, the course looks at contemporary environmental policy issues: acid rain, second home development, invasive species, over-use of popular areas, among others. The course includes either a weekend camping trip or several day trips (one of which may be service-oriented). Fee required.
