POSC - 310. Interest Group Politics 3 credit(s) A critical evaluation of the impact of interest group politics on the American policy-making process. The course includes a study of the various theories of the power of interest groups, the formation and development of interest group organizations and movements and the organizational maintenance of interest groups. Also, the course examines the roles interest groups play in shaping public attitudes, influencing campaigns and elections and lobbying political institutions and officials. Students should have a working knowledge of American government.
