HIST - 266. New York State History 3 credit(s) This course examines the history and cultural heritage of New York State from the colonial era to the present. Topics include cross-cultural relations between Native Americans, Dutch and English in the colonial era; the American Revolution in New York State; the environmental impact of the Erie Canal, immigration, industrialization, and urbanization since the 19th century; reform politics from the Civil War through the 20th century; and the history and legacy of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks.
