CREA - 370. Improvisation in Dance

This course explores the use of improvisation as a tool for the further development of the art of making dance. Students will explore the freedom of movement and with it, experimentation. The class will help the students gain an increased sensitivity to time, space, energy, motion, oneself and other people. Students will develop the skill to take an idea, concept or feeling and express it non-verbally. Students will learn to improvise with their bodies as an instrument, with abstract elements of dance and with the environment in which dance exists. Creative Arts Fee.

Prerequisite(s): CREA 170, CREA 172  or permission of Instructor.
