3 credit(s) An interdisciplinary course designed to identify racist, heterosexist, ageist, anti-Semitic, ableist, etc. assumptions in conventional scholarship; to develop an interdisciplinary critique of knowledge; to describe the development of stereotypes about disenfranchised groups throughout western culture; to recognize the contributions of women and members of other disenfranchised groups in various fields of human endeavor; to develop a holistic appreciation of the diversity of society.
