FINC - 630. Financial Markets and Institutions 3 credit(s) This course examines the role of financial markets and institutions in the financial system, including the role of the central bank and effective regulation. Topics include the asymmetric information problem and how markets and intermediaries reduce asymmetric information. This course will cover the following areas: commercial banking and securities markets; interest rates and risk management; central banking, monetary policy; current issues in financial markets and institutions.
