MUMD - 245. 3D Modeling & Texture

This intermediate-level studio course provides an in-depth exploration of 3D modeling and texturing, essential components in the game design process. Students will also delve into the history and theory of texturing and modeling specifically for digital games. A review of the fundamental techniques along with the introduction of advanced techniques will ensure that students acquire the skills necessary to create intricate and visually compelling game assets. This course provides an overview of the capabilities and applications of industry-standard software, including Maya, Adobe Substance, Maxon Z brush, and Blender. Emphasis will be placed on the creative application of the media. Students will learn to create textures to apply meshes to 3D models. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on projects, and critiques, students will gain proficiency in the tools and methodologies used by industry professionals. Basic Design Fee.
