MUMD - 230. Digital Painting & Environmental Art

An intermediate level studio course covering the practice, history, and theory of digital painting and environmental art. Instruction on value, shape & form, color theory, and perspective will guide students to create dynamic environments as seen in video games and films. Use of reference drawings and source imagery will help students build characters, still lifes, and landscapes. Projects will progressively build upon one another, culminating in a final series that showcases both painting skills and storytelling abilities. Techniques and tools will be taught with the use of a wacom tablet and Adobe Photoshop. Basic Design Fee.

Prerequisite(s): CREA 200  and MUMD 225
