SPAN - 028. Visual Culture of the Spanish-Speaking World 3 credit(s) This course, taught in English, will address visual cultural products produced in Latin America, Spain, the Caribbean, and Latino/as in the United States. Through the study of films, street art, photography, illustration, paintings, and protest art, among other media, students will gain an appreciation for the vast diversity amongst lberoamerican cultures. The study of visual culture will be used to delve into themes such as gender equality, immigration, class disparities, and ethnic and religious minorities framed within socio- political contexts.
