MATH - 040. Preparation for College Math I 3 credit(s) This course reinforces the fundamental computational and algebraic skills necessary to succeed in college mathematics. Topics include fluency with real numbers (signed numbers, fractions, decimals, exponents, and roots), algebraic manipulation (expressions, solving equations and inequalities, linear systems), and functions (graphing, transformations, lines, polynomials, etc.). Applications, reasoning, and approximation skills are emphasized to lay a foundation for effective learning in college-level quantitative courses.
