ECON - 460. Federal Reserve Challenge 3 credit(s) The Federal Reserve Challenge is a course designed to bring real-world macroeconomics and monetary policy decisions into the classroom. Teams play the role of monetary policymakers by analyzing current economic conditions and recommending a course for monetary policy. Students develop skills-the ability to think analytically, to make effective presentations, to work as a team, to think on their feet-that are valuable in both their academic and professional careers. Teams of five students give a presentation on the economy and participate in a question and answer session with New York Fed economists who are experts on economics and monetary policy. Note that this is a half-semester, double-time course and students should be aware of the unusually heavy workload for the first half of the semester.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of Instructor Required Equivalent: FINC 460 Attribute: BUS, HONOR, NOEX
