BIOL - 480. Biostatistics 4 credit(s) An introduction to the statistical principles and methods most commonly used by biologists. Topics will include probability, inference, hypothesis testing, regression and multiple regression, general linear models, parametric and non-parametric tests, and permutation-based methods. Laboratories will permit hands-on application of concepts from lecture to real biological data sets, building the programming skills needed to use modern statistical software. An excellent elective for students pursuing graduate school, medical school, PA school, or any career that requires generating or understanding scientific research. Students from other majors are welcomed on a case-by-case basis with permission of the instructor. Computer Science Lab Fee.
