(2 hours lecture, 4 hours laboratory) 3 credit(s) A study of vertebrate animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals) with an emphasis on evolution, ecology, behavior, anatomy, and conservation. This course will cover how human activity is impacting the survival of these animals in the wild. Local species are studied in natural habitats during off-campus lab field trips. Some indoor lab sessions will examine vertebrate anatomy, local diversity, and behavior through the study of preserved specimens and live animals. Lab fee.
