SWRK - 415. Social Work Practice with Groups 3 credit(s) This course focuses on the development and application of knowledge, skills, values and ethics in social work group practice with task, psychoeducational, treatment and other groups. Students will learn and engage in the Generalist Intervention Model (GIM) with groups - engagement, assessment/data collection, planning, implementation/intervention, evaluation and termination -using strong interpersonal and group communication skills. Group process and dynamics will be grounded knowledge power, privilege and oppression, how they present themselves in group settings and how to intervene to advance human rights.
Note: Specialized professional courses, restricted to students who have been admitted into the Social Work Program.
