3 credit(s) This course will use peer evaluations and the traditional writing workshop to foster student skills in writing poetry. Students are required to distribute poems they have written to the class for critique and group evaluation. Poetic theory and technique will be examined, and the works of contemporary poets will be studied. Students will be introduced to the art of writing contemporary poetry.
