Siena computer science majors seeking initial teaching certification (all grades) must be approved by both the Computer Science Department and the Education Department . It is the responsibility of the student to understand and fulfill the various requirements of Siena College, the Major Department, Education Department, and the state to which they plan to apply for teacher certification. Computer science majors seeking initial teaching certification will need to maintain at least a 2.75 in Computer Science, as well as an Education and overall GPA of a 3.0. In addition, only courses with a grade of C or above are acceptable toward meeting content core and pedagogical core requirements for teacher certification in the State of New York.
