This is an advanced course on the software and hardware architectures for embedded system design. The course will review digital design basics including timing, logic gates, interrupts, shift registers, ADCs, and memory. The course will cover design flow and tools; the design of standard peripherals, microcontrollers, single-purpose and general-purpose processors; and basic concepts of interfacing and communication protocols in embedded systems.

Prerequisite(s): SCDV 230  and APHY 330  .
