CREA - 375. Experimental Video

In this studio art course, students will build a series of short videos prompted by topics and genres relating to the history and evolution of video art and experimental film. Students will have access to a range of digital cameras and learn how to edit in Adobe Premiere Pro. The class will also learn Dragonframe to create a collaborative stop-motion video. The course goal is to become familiar with the history, theory, and aesthetics of this new art medium, and to gain experience in making, critiquing, and exhibiting one’s own original videos. No experience in art, video, or sound production is necessary.
