HNRS - 350. Honors Research Colloquium 1-3 credit(s) The Research Colloquium is designed to prepare Honors students to write an Honors Thesis. It provides a forum for students to learn advanced research skills in their respective disciplines, to discuss ideas about a Research Thesis/Project as they evolve, and to discuss the process of planning and preparing that thesis/project. Students will use class time to try out their ideas and to receive constructive criticism; to conduct appropriate literature searches in the discipline(s) in which their thesis falls; and, at the end of the semester, to present final proposals for the thesis/project. In addition, by the end of the course, the students will have a clear and doable topic in hand and a faculty mentor chosen to supervise the work. No final exam. Offered only in the spring semester. Permission of the Honors Program Director required.
Prerequisite(s): completion of at least four honors courses.
