NURS - 108. Introduction to Biophysical and Psychological Concepts Across Transitional Care 10 credit(s) This course prepares the student to care for patients across the life span with common healthcare needs and to manage transitions of care. Students build upon previous knowledge within the two curricular themes: health and nursing. Students use the nursing process to care for patients and families across diverse health care settings. This course explores social determinants of health, behavioral health, pharmacology, medication administration, and physical assessment. Clinical learning experiences occur in the community, behavioral health, and medical/surgical units. Students will build upon the steps of the nursing process to implement evidence-based care decisions utilizing the six cognitive functions of the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model.
