NURS - 415. Transformational Nursing Leadership 0-3 credit(s) This capstone course is designed to give the student the opportunity to assimilate the theoretical disciplinary knowledge of nursing with the core values of a Franciscan education within the context of the role of the professional baccalaureate-prepared nurse leader. This course prepares the nurse to be a caritas conscious leader through the application, synthesis, and evaluation of concepts and nursing issues. Experiences promote the development of knowledge and skills needed for leadership and management roles within a culturally diverse health care system. The caritas nurse leader evaluates strategies to manage resources and apply transformational leadership principles to create compassionate, caring work environments. The continuation of self-care strategies learned throughout the program are further explored to support lifelong integration both personally and professionally. Students are encouraged to reflect on how “being, doing and becoming” a caritas nurse transforms their role as a nurse leader.
Note: Offered by Baldwin Nursing Program. Specialized professional courses, restricted to students who have been admitted into Nursing Program.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 408 (may be taken concurrently) and NURS 410 . Attribute: ARTS, NOEX
