Belanger/Baldwin DDNP Clinical and Service Requirements:
Students will complete all of their pre-licensure clinical (562.5 hours) as part of their Belanger School of Nursing courses (NURS 105, NURS 110, NURS 115, NURS 208 and NURS 210) at the Ellis Medicine campus.
Students will complete their post-licensure clinical (135 hours) during their senior year at Siena College. Students complete a 90-hour clinical in NURS 410 in the community by arrangement of the department. Students will also complete a 45-hour clinical in NURS 415 during their senior year in a setting mutually approved by the department and facility. Settings must be approved in advance by the Nursing Department. The Department does not assign a student to a unit in which he/she is an employee.
Approval for Entry into Clinical Settings: As students will work directly with clients in clinical settings, there are criteria that must be met prior to entry. The status of all students will be reviewed to ensure their readiness for admission into their clinical or service setting. Criteria for admission into clinical settings are outlined in detail in the Nursing Handbooks.
