The Health Studies Science track is an interdisciplinary pre-professional major that prepares students for numerous career paths in the health care field. The science track is designed to allow students to gain a deep knowledge base along with a variety of perspectives to bring to a career in health care. Students will take courses in a multitude of areas - including science, humanities, ethics, global health, sociology, and more. Health Studies-Science major is a rigorous course of study to provide students with a solid academic background in a pre-health professional program. Graduates would have options to pursue employment in health-related positions or further their education for a career with direct or indirect patient care. Completion of this major will prepare students for graduate level studies in health professions, primarily in the allied health fields. Students interested in becoming allied health care professionals would continue their education at graduate level programs such as Physician’s Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy. Additional areas of interest for graduates may be in the fields of Public Health and Nutrition.
