The Certificate of Advanced Study in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CAS in TESOL) at Siena University is a 16-credit program for New York State certified teachers with a master’s degree who wish to add an ESOL certification to better serve their students and advance their careers. Delivered fully online in an asynchronous format, the program emphasizes practical strategies for language instruction, literacy development, and assessment, with courses taught by experienced K-12 educators. Most students complete the degree in 1 to 2 years while continuing to teach full time.
A minimum of 12 undergraduate credits in a world language (or) demonstrated proficiency. Students may be admitted to the program with 6 undergraduate credits in a world language.
