Economic Theory and Practice Concentration


There are two 5-course Economics Concentrations available for students who wish to pursue their studies in the field of Economics: (a) Economic Theory and Practice and (b) Public Policy and Economics. Students who are interested in both the Economic Theory and Practice and Public Policy and Economics concentrations should strongly consider choosing Economics as their major.

This concentration provides students with an introduction to economic analysis and theory, as well as its application to current events. Students will use theoretical models, quantitative and qualitative tools, and critical thinking to develop a deep understanding of economic issues and policy recommendations. This concentration prepares students for careers in public administration, law, business and entrepreneurship. It is also preparation for further graduate training in a variety of disciplines such as economics, law, management, marketing, finance, public policy, and public health. ECON 300  topics courses may be substituted at the discretion of the department chair.

Requirements for the Concentration in Economic Theory and Practice (15 credits):


Students must choose two courses from the following Elective Courses: 6 credits
