Dr. Daniel Lewis, Director
The Interdisciplinary Research Methods certificate program is designed to provide the students the opportunity to build on the research skills that they acquire in their major and to strengthen their research methods background by taking a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach. Unique to Siena, the program stresses both the theory and practice of research, including both quantitative and qualitative analytical approaches. The program encourages hands-on learning, with the opportunity to work with a broad variety of data resources. Students will have the opportunity to participate in research activities sponsored by the Siena Research Institute and the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (CURCA). Moreover, the program gives students the opportunity to acquire an in-depth understanding of the philosophical foundations upon which different methodologies are based.
