GBUS - 610. Data Visualization and Predictive Analytics

This is an applied course on current technologies used for predictive analytics with an emphasis on applications in business. The course is based on case studies that incorporate typical challenges encountered in applications: Large transactional data sets with mixed types of variables (e.g., qualitative and quantitative), missing data, lurking variables, confounded predictors and uncontrolled variation. The emphasis of the course is on effective use of the methods, interpretation of results, and recognition of potential pitfalls in their use. The role of effective data visualization is emphasized throughout the course. Equivalent to MACC 545 Previously MACC 545.
