SCDV - 160. Computer Aided DesignLaboratory 1 credit(s) As the old adage goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Nowhere is this exemplified more clearly than in engineering graphics. A visual language of design has evolved in this field to allow engineers to clearly, accurately, and efficiently communicate complex design criteria and constraints that would be impossible to convey using words alone. This course provides a general introduction to this language of engineering graphics and computer-aided design (CAD) using industry-standard 3D solid modeling software. Topics include three-dimensional parametric modeling of parts, assemblies, geometric construction, orthographic and isometric projection, dimensioning and tolerancing, and computer-generated design documentation.
