3 credit(s) This is a one semester introductory course in Topology. The topics covered include: Open and closed sets, topologies on general point sets, connectedness, compactness, continuity, product and quotient topologies, and metric spaces. Applications to other areas in mathematics (principally geometry and analysis) will be explored. Offered Spring Semester.
