SPAN - 360. Spanish American Civilization

A survey of Latin American culture and civilization from pre-Hispanic days to the present. This course will focus on specific historical moments throughout Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, the Southern Cone and the Andes, as well as on some works on post-colonial theory. It will also identify and analyze a diverse range of written and audio-visual cultural material that includes short stories, essays, films and music, among others.
