EDUC - 647. A Critical Exploration of Assessment and Data
3 credit(s) Students will understand and explore classroom-based, standards-based, and performance-based assessments and evaluations. Students will examine national and international diagnostic and standardized educational assessments and their impact on different learners. Students will engage with data through assessment tools and reports to evaluate the use and purpose of assessment. Issues of equity and access in evaluation will be prioritized. Course objectives include examining numerous assessment methods and their uses, synthesizing current assessment practices and policies, analyzing assessment data, and interpreting common assessments.
