0 credit(s) This six-hour workshop is designed to provide the student with knowledge of physical and psychological addiction to controlled substances; chemical dependency; drugs of abuse; legal issues for teachers; behavioral indicators of substance abuse; goals of a school wide substance abuse prevention program; goals of a school wide intervention program; curriculum materials on decision-making, coping strategies, and self-esteem; issues of adolescence; and the continuum of services.
Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in the Professional Semester.
