RELG - 260. Religion and Moral Decision

In this course, students will read widely across world religions to understand how different religious individuals and communities produce the moral conclusions and ethical parameters that shape their worlds.  Students will examine moral experience, moral character and moral discernment, as well as analyze the principles and procedures used in global religious traditions to adjudicate crucial moral issues that may include, but are not limited to, medical ethics, racism, and moral judgements about warfare.

Prerequisite(s): RELG 101  or RELG 121  or RELG 141  or RELG 181
