FILM - 242. Film and Justice

3 credit(s)

This course explores how cinema imagines and interrogates justice through visual form and narrative design. From global realism to political thriller, films such as Rashomon (1950), Do the Right Thing {1989), and Minority Report (2002) reveal how framing, sound, and performance shape moral perceptions. Students examine justice as representation, structure, memory, and emotion; they will analyze how film exposes inequality by revisiting trauma, and evoking ethical responses. Integrating cultural criticism and formal analysis, the course invites students to see cinema as both a mirror and an agent of moral imagination in the pursuit of justice.
