GAME - 402. Capstone Game Design II3 credit(s) This course is the second of a two-part capstone course series in which Game Design majors across all tracks synthesize knowledge acquired from their previous coursework by developing and completing a complex digital game and thesis paper. In this course, students will undergo the final three stages of game development: pre-launch, launch, and post-production. They will continue working with their teams from GAME 401 to refine their game aesthetics, create balance with game mechanics, build a branding & marketing strategy, use extensive testing to fix bugs, and hone their narrative. Completed games will be presented to Siena University through the academic showcase, evaluated by Siena's e-sports league, and entered for competition in local game jams. Concurrently, students will utilize their writing assignments from GAME 401 to complete their thesis papers. At the completion of the Game Design capstone course series, students will have gained advice from local partnered professionals, demonstrated the ability to collaborate effectively, developed a curated professional portfolio of work ready for market, illustrated excellence in their area of study, and gained a critical understanding of their work within the context of the game design world. |
