CHEM - 428. Physical Biochemistry

Three hours of lecture each week.
3 credit(s)
This course covers the physical properties of biological macromolecules including proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, lipids and biological membranes. This includes their structure, the thermodynamic properties that govern their various features, and the interactions between these macromolecules and small biological molecules. This course also introduces many of the various techniques commonly encountered in a biochemistry laboratory. The material presented in this course will show the interdisciplinary nature of biochemistry.

Prerequisite(s): CHEM 220  or consent of the instructor.
