SOCI - 376. Health Care in the Developing World3 credit(s) Beginning with the two developing countries (China and India) that together represent forty percent of the world's population, this course takes students beyond the confines of allopathic medicine and into a world where traditional medicine and its practitioners provide health care to the general population. A significant component of the course explores the increasing interface between traditional forms of health care and allopathic medicine and the wide-ranging economic, political, and social realities that fragment populations and the impact of these realities on health and health outcomes. |
