This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the Unix/Linux operating systems, focusing on core concepts, essential tools, and best practices for system administration. Students will explore the rich history of Unix and its derivatives, delve into the core principles of the Unix philosophy, and gain hands-on experience with essential command-line tools, including Bash scripting.

The course covers fundamental system administration tasks such as user and group management, file system management, network configuration, and security best practices. Students will learn to navigate the file system, manipulate files and directories, manage processes, and implement basic backup and recovery strategies. Lab fee.
