HIST - 268. History of American Education

This course introduces students to the history of American education. It explores the founding of public schools in America and explores the differences between education in the North and South. Education of African Americans and other racial minorities will be examined. Students will develop historical literacy regarding education history and will explore that Franciscan tradition of education as a public good and a service to the poor.
