CREA - 311. Contemporary Critique

Students will do and present academic research and creative work in any medium for class critique and discussion with the goal of defining their creative process and focusing their media and concepts. Art history majors will present papers critiquing their peers’ work for discussion and feedback. In addition, contemporary arts theory and practice will be studied, analyzed and applied to one’s own work. The class will also visit local arts organizations and come to better understand one’s role as an artist in any specific community, the global publishing and electronic community, and one’s options for both professional and avocational work in the arts. Senior status is required to enroll in this course. Permission of Instructor is required.
