BIOL - 225. Ecology

(2 hours lecture, 4 hours laboratory)

A study of the interrelations of organisms with each other and the environment. This class covers ecological interactions at all levels, from individuals, to populations, to entire ecosystems. Human impacts on the Earth are a major theme, including discussion of habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. Mathematical modeling is emphasized. The lab emphasizes field methods, experimental design, and data analysis and will include field trips to local habitats. Lab fee.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 110  and BIOL 120 , or BIOL 170  and BIOL 180 , or  BIOL 170  and BIOL 120
